yesterday at my place of work people were excited about the event, the TVs on the cafeterias are now 24/7 showing SportTV, my (cis men) colleagues were watching the game while working and when the subject of boycott came up they just said that there's nothing we can do about it now so they might as well watch the games, as long as they are not giving any money to the event, afterwards their conversations were ALL about the event. as a bonus, I heard an exchange between two colleagues about how people of African origin and descent are "built more resistant to physical stress" and that's why "they are better at sports".
